The Computer Science Department at Illinois Institute of Technology received a $7.6 million gift from Chris Gladwin, member of the Illinois Tech Board of Trustees and founder of Cleversafe. The gift will be used to help strengthen Illinois Tech’s computer science program by expanding facilities, attracting top faculty and developing an endowment fund.
Peng-Jun Wan, professor of computer science, has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for contributions to scheduling and resource allocation in wireless networks. Wan’s areas of expertise include wireless networks, optical networks, and algorithm design and analysis.
Illinois Tech College of Architecture is ranked in the top 15 undergraduate programs in Design Intelligence's 2016 ranking of "America's Best Architecture and Design Schools." College of Architecture's B.Arch. program was ranked 13th in the national listing for 2016, up two spots from the 2015 ranking. Once again, College of Architecture's undergraduate program was ranked #1 in the Midwest region.
